It all started with the discovery of an abandoned spoon in the depths of an antique shop in Thessaloniki by our visionary founder, Maria Polychroniadou. Recognizing the hidden beauty within, she embarked on a challenging journey of exploration to transform it into luxury jewelry.
1) The journey begins with the reproduction of the original spoon, knife or fork. Using the appropriate machine, we create a rubber mold that can produce wax replicas.
2) Using a different machine, we fill the mold with melted wax to obtain an exact replica of the desired ring design.
3) In the third step, we pour plaster around the wax copy, which creates a cavity that mirrors the shape of the wax ring.
4) Next, we begin the dewaxing process. We place the plaster with the wax replica in a kiln. In there the wax melts and is removed from the plaster.
5) This cavity serves as a mold into which molten silver is poured, giving birth to the silver ring.
Until the jewel takes its final form, there are still many stages remaining. This complex process guarantees the highest level of precision. We use sterling silver as the base material, combined with the choice of rhodium plating, gold plating or rose gold plating.
Our connection with Greek mythology adds a magical and meaningful dimension to our creations. Our admiration for Greek mythology is evident in our choice of names and incorporation of symbolic elements. Each ring is given a name inspired by Greek mythology, aligning it with the essence and meaning of the design. For example, a ring adorned with flowers may bear the name of a Greek goddess associated with spring, flowers or the earth. The name "Cavero" itself comes from Nymph (Cabeero), who was the wife of Hephaestus, the god of fire and metallurgy. Furthermore, with a C-shaped outline, the logo reminds us of Hephaestus' pincers, while the seahorse in the centre pays homage to the inspiration behind it all, the Nymph Cavero.
